# Remediation and recommendations

> View detailed remediation instructions and security recommendations for each risk factor to help resolve identified issues and reduce future risk.

Each risk factor includes **Recommendation** and **Remediation** sections that provide guidance on reducing or eliminating the associated risk.

To view this information, open the [Risk factor details](/docs/espm/riskfactors/risk-factors-details) page by clicking the risk factor name in a grid.

## Remediation

The **Remediation** section contains one or more approaches for resolving the risk factor. Depending on the nature of the issue, remediation guidance may include instructions for:

* Individual endpoints
* Group Policy (GPO)
* Microsoft Intune
* Security baselines
* Administrative tools or operating system settings

Remediation instructions are intended as general guidance and are not tailored to a specific endpoint or environment. Before applying any changes, review the instructions and ensure they are appropriate for your organization's configuration, policies, and operational requirements.

## Recommendations

The **Recommendations** section provides security best practices and preventive measures intended to reduce the likelihood of the risk occurring in the future.

Recommendations may include:

* Security hardening guidance
* Configuration best practices
* Policy and compliance recommendations
* Monitoring and auditing suggestions
* Deployment recommendations for enterprise environments
* Additional security controls that can improve protection

Recommendations complement remediation instructions by helping organizations establish and maintain a stronger security posture over time.

<Note>
  Recommendations and remediation instructions are provided as general guidance. They may require adaptation to match your organization's infrastructure, security policies, and management tools
