7.22.80 (Build 7.22.712)
Improvements
- Linux Client — SELinux support in the standard package. The standard Linux Client installation package now supports SELinux. The previously-available SELinux-specific Client package had functionality limitations and is no longer used.
- Linux Client — RPM format. The standard Linux Client installation package is now also available in RPM format to allow use with RPM Manager for Red Hat distributions (RHEL, CentOS, etc).
- Administrative permissions — the “Tenant Management and System Configuration” administrative permission can now be granted to any user of the built-in default tenant, regardless of whether Multi-Tenant mode is enabled. See Multi-Tenant overview.
- Pseudonymizer — sending pseudonymized data to SIEM systems is now supported. See SIEM integration.
Issues fixed
- Golden image Clients — automatic Client group assignment rules for golden image Clients stopped functioning after updating VMware Horizon to v.2412.
- Windows Clients — the user could be logged off after pressing Enter in some cases when the Enable displaying of additional message option was enabled.
- macOS Clients — URL Filtering did not function correctly on macOS Clients.
7.22.60 (Build 7.22.564)
Issues fixed
- Archive & Cleanup — when archiving Client sessions, the binary data was deleted if the archived binary data location specified was the same as the main binary data folder.
- Forensic Export — when playing an exported Client session, the option to show the second screen in the Session Player (when using multiple monitors) was not always available.
- Scheduled reports — generating scheduled User Statistics Grid reports gave the error “The query processor ran out of internal resources…” and canceled, in certain cases involving large amounts of sessions when run monthly.
- Using secrets — Active Directory account secrets used the wrong FQDN for connection to the allowed machine in certain cases. See Use secrets.
- Account Discovery — onboarding Active Directory accounts failed (with the “Onboarding failed for all selected credentials” error) if a secret was used for password rotation. See Account Discovery.
- Session playback — sessions contained black screenshots while RemoteApp was being used in certain cases after updating to Syteca 7.21.10 (7.21.1040).
- Application filtering — in certain cases, Client sessions contained several screenshots of applications that were specified as not to be monitored in the Application Filtering parameters.
- Client Sessions list — the remote IP address could not be detected when using the PCoIP connection protocol.
- macOS Clients — the Syteca macOS client caused high CPU usage on the endpoint in certain cases.
7.22.50 (Build 7.22.494)
Improvements
- Management Tool UI — translations have been updated for the Polish (PL) language localization.
- Third-party products — various libraries used by the Syteca Linux Client have been updated to fix identified vulnerabilities.
Issues fixed
- Linux Clients — false positive “Unlicensed client session has started” notifications occurred when users logged in to Linux Client computers in certain cases.
- macOS Clients — in certain cases, macOS Clients were not showing up in the Management Tool after installing them.
- Windows Clients — in certain cases, the Task Manager could not be opened on Windows Client computers (due to the
EkranClientSession.exeprocess). - System errors and warnings — many unnecessary non-threatening errors / warnings were added to the logs and the System Health grid after updating to Syteca 7.20 (7.20.596).
- Forensic Export — exporting a session fragment failed with the “No data for export” error in SaaS deployments.
- Password Management (PAM) — a random GUID was displayed instead of the hostname in the RDP window name while using Syteca Connection Manager after updating to Syteca 7.21 (7.21.1019).
- Alerts — after creating a custom alert rule for detecting idle events, the alert was being falsely triggered at the beginning of each session (on login).
- Windows Clients — session recording did not start on Windows Server 2012 R2, despite the Client showing as online after updating to Syteca 7.20.210 (7.20.1498).
- Installing Windows Clients — after installing the Windows Client remotely using the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) distribution system, the “Installation completed successfully” notification popup started being displayed after updating to Syteca 7.21 (7.21.1019).
7.22.10 (Build 7.22.279)
Issues fixed
- Windows Clients — the Windows Client only recorded 1 screen out of 2 if they had different resolutions after updating to Syteca 7.21.1019.
- Additional message on login (Windows) — various issues with the displaying of an Additional Message on Windows 10 when using VMware Horizon.
- Additional message on login (Windows) — it was not possible to configure the “Message display frequency” option if the “Require user consent” or “Require user’s comments” options were enabled.
7.22 (Build 7.22.221)
It is planned to deprecate the Syteca Tray Notifications application, which will no longer be available from Syteca 7.23. (Confirmed deprecated in 7.23 — see v7.23.)
Improvements
- 2FA for Linux GUI sessions — Two-factor authentication is now available for Linux GUI sessions (including when using Wayland), similarly to Linux terminal (local and SSH) sessions. See Two-factor authentication.
- Additional message on login (Windows) — a custom message display frequency can now be configured to stop the additional message being displayed every time any user logs in (on the same day, or until a specified number of hours have passed).
- Display icon when recording is in progress — the icon’s location on the screen can now be saved for each user after they move it, so the icon stays in the user’s last position on subsequent logins instead of returning to the default location.
- LDAP Targets — Organizational Unit (OU) scoping. LDAP targets can now be added that are limited to an Organizational Unit (OU) within the LDAP Target domain. See LDAP targets.
Application Credentials Broker 1.2 (Build 1.2.0.146)
The Application Credentials Broker 1.2 shipped alongside Syteca 7.22.Improvements
- New API endpoints are now available to use an external application for rotation of the default “admin” user’s password. See ACB rotation endpoints.
- Security improvements across the ACB API.
- Token generation — all user types can now generate Refresh Tokens and Authorization (Access) Tokens to use ACB (not only Application Account users).
