Prerequisites

Before using Syteca Endpoint Risk & Compliance Control, ensure that:

Deployment

Install the Endpoint Risk & Compliance Control Server Module

  1. During Server installation or update, select the option to install the Endpoint Risk & Compliance Control module.
  2. Configure the required settings, such as:
    • Database name
    • Other deployment-specific options

Install the Endpoint Risk Control Portal

  1. During Management Tool installation or update, select the option to install the Endpoint Risk Control Portal.
  2. Configure the required settings, such as:
    • Endpoint Risk Control Portal connection settings
    • Other deployment-specific options

Licensing

  1. Activate a serial key that includes the Endpoint Risk & Compliance Control application.
  2. Assign endpoint licenses with the Endpoint Risk & Compliance Control application enabled to the Windows endpoints that will be monitored.
Only licensed endpoints are evaluated byEndpoint Risk & Compliance Control and included in health score calculations.

Accessing Endpoint Risk & Compliance Control

  1. Open the Management Tool.
  2. Click Endpoint Risk Control in the main menu.
  3. The Endpoint Risk Control Portal opens in a new browser tab.
You can work in the Endpoint Risk Control Portal and the Management Tool simultaneously.
The Endpoint Risk & Compliance Control administrative permission is required to open the Endpoint Risk Control Portal.

Initial Configuration

  1. Assign policies to the required endpoint groups or endpoints.
Assign policies to Endpoint Groups whenever possible. Policies assigned to groups are automatically inherited by endpoints within those groups, simplifying administration and ensuring consistent coverage.
  1. Open the Dashboard to review your organization’s current risk and compliance.
  2. Monitor:
  3. Use the Endpoint Details page and Risk Factors page page to identify issues requiring remediation.
  4. Follow the recommended remediation guidance to improve endpoint, policy, and organizational health scores.
