The Endpoint description is a free-form text field used as additional information about a Endpoint. It makes it easier to find specific Endpoints via filtering - Endpoints can be filtered by their descriptions in addition to filtering by their names.
Applies to: Windows Endpoints, macOS Endpoints, Linux C. The parameter behaves identically across all three platforms.

Where to find it

The Endpoint description lives on the Properties tab of the Editing Endpoint page, in the Endpoint Properties section at the top.

How to set or edit it

Open the Endpoint

In the Management Tool, click the Endpoints navigation link, then click the Endpoint’s name in the Endpoint Name column.

Edit the description

On the Properties tab, in the Endpoint Properties section, enter or update the Description field.

Save

Click Finish in the bottom right of the page.
